Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has submitted documents containing detail of money trail of to purchase Bani Gala residence in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
According to the documents, Jemima transferred $275,678 and $217,000 in Rashid Khan’s account on July 29 and April 8, 2002, respectively.
The Supreme Court has been hearing a petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi regarding ‘foreign funding’ of the PTI and served notices to Imran Khan and his party in May, over issues relating to money trail surrounding purchase of the PTI chief’s estate in Bani Gala.
The apex court had asked 14 questions from the PTI chairman regarding purchase of Bani Gala land and an offshore firm he owned. This had prompted Imran to contact his ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith, asking for the record of bank transactions for the purchase of land.
