PTI Chairman Imran Khan said former army chief Gen. (ret.) Qamar Javed Bajwa made a “contract” with ex-president Asif Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, claiming it as the reason corruption could not be wiped out under his term.
While talking to a journalist in Lahore, Imran admitted at his Lahore home that the alleged pact prevented accountability for the corrupt.
Imran said Gen (r) Bajwa controlled the NAB when the PTI was in office. “There is no rule of law. Only the powerful rule this country.”
Imran stated he would’ve “cleaned” the country of corruption with a “proper” army head.
The former PM stated the “regime change effort” was designed to destroy the PTI but instead boosted its popularity. Gen Bajwa thought PTI’s rise would slow, but it didn’t.
Imran claimed the Election Commission (EC) was under establishment control.
Imran said PPP and PML-N have no receipts for foreign funding, but PTI has data on 40,000 donors.
“The Supreme Court stated all foreign funding matters should be heard together,” he said.
Ex-PM stated he wouldn’t ruin public trust for power. “I won’t establish another government.”
Imran projected March-April general elections and that his party’s MNAs will quit on Monday.
