Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan blamed the ruling PML-N for violence in Faisalabad where one of his supporters was killed in firing.
“In the democracy a peaceful protest is right of everyone. It’s responsibility of the state to protect a peaceful protest, but instead the rulers unleashed their Gullu Butts for bloodshed in Faisalabad,” he said while speaking to reporters at his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad before leaving for Faisalabad.
“Our crime is that we demand justice,” Khan said, and vowed to get an FIR registered in Faridabad.
A 23-year-old Asghar Ali was killed when shots were fired on a group protesting at Novelty Bridge of the city. Medics said Ali received a bullet in his abdomen.
Police said the suspected shooter has been identified as Shahid, a resident of Saman Abad area, adding that raids were being conducted for his arrest.
Imran Khan further claimed that former law minister of Punjab Rana Sanaullah had said that “he will deal with all of them”.
The PTI Chairman further added that it is an old habit of PML-N to resort to violent ways. He added that the government attacked Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) activists in Model Town area of Lahore and his party supporters were attacked in Jhelum, Gujranwala and other cities.
