The Islamabad District and Sessions Court has extended the interim bail for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the Toshakhana 2.0 case until January 7, 2024.
The bail extension decision followed a hearing by Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Mujoka. During the session, junior lawyers represented the couple, explaining that their senior counsel was engaged in another case at Central Jail Adiala and could not attend.

This development comes shortly after a trial court indicted Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi last week. They are accused of misappropriating a Bulgari jewellery set received during a visit to Saudi Arabia in May 2021. Valued at approximately Rs75.7 million, the couple allegedly undervalued the jewellery by Rs32.9 million, leading to significant losses for the national treasury.
Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand read the charges against them in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where Imran has been detained for over a year. Both denied the allegations in court, adjourning the case until December 18. At the next session, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) plans to present the first four of its 28 witnesses.
The Toshakhana 2.0 case centres on allegations that the couple retained the expensive jewellery set illegally and failed to deposit it into the national treasury as required, violating multiple sections of the NAB Ordinance 1999.
