Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan stated that he would dissolve both KP and Sindh assemblies on December 17.
The former prime minister claimed he would announce the dissolution date at the party’s public gathering at Lahore’s Liberty Chowk.
After his video address finished, both PTI-led assemblies would be disbanded by December 23.
“After we dissolve both assemblies, there will be elections in the provinces. Also, our 123-125 National Assembly members whose resignations haven’t been accepted will ask the speaker inside the assembly to accept their resignations, “Khan said
Imran Khan’s speech came after meeting with the top leaders of his party about important political and economic issues that “required his party to act.”
Khan said that as a result of these changes, as much as 70% of Pakistan would move toward elections. By law, elections should be held within 90 days of the dissolution of the assemblies.
“So, remember this: I’ll announce the date on December 17, and 70% of Pakistan will go to the polls after that. If 70% of Pakistan votes, it makes sense for the country to move toward general elections.”
“But, unfortunately, our leaders are corrupt and have been convicted of crimes. They don’t care what happens in Pakistan, and when bad things start happening there, they will leave, “he said.
Khan said that the coalition leaders feared that a new government would be formed if they stepped down, and their corruption cases would be reopened.
“Their goals and the goals of the country are very different.”
Each National Assembly is established for a five-year tenure that starts on the first day of its first meeting and ends with its automatic dissolution. The Prime Minister of Pakistan cannot dissolve the National Assembly; only the President of Pakistan may do so, which wouldn’t be easy in this case. I don’t think, Imran khan should dissolve the assemblies
