On Sunday, Azam Khan Swati, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, revealed that the imprisoned founder, Imran Khan, is open to negotiating with the establishment if they can ensure his release.
In a detailed video, Swati mentioned that Khan had given him the go-ahead during a recent meeting at Adiala Jail. He criticized “vloggers and anchors” for spreading false information and aimed to clarify the situation amidst a growing rift within the PTI ranks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Swati strongly defended KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Junaid Akbar, and Salman Akram Raja, identifying them as Khan’s chosen lieutenants.

Swati recounted urging Khan to let him broker talks, citing past efforts post-Gen Asim Munir’s 2022 appointment. “I reached out to a top anchor and Dr. Tanveer,” he said, hinting at Tanveer Ahmed, but got no traction. In their latest chat, he pressed again: “Let me work with Dr. Arif Alvi to open doors.” Knowing Swati’s loyalty through years of trials, Khan replied, “If they’re ready, I am like day one.”
Swati also lashed out at smear campaigns against PTI USA and a First Pakistan Global delegation, who met establishment figures to push for Khan’s freedom, splitting diaspora support.

Swati disputed claims that Khan silenced him, emphasizing his sacrifices: “I’ve endured torture 1,100 workers owe me their bail.” As PTI faces internal chaos, his call for unity and dialogue indicates a crucial moment in which the establishment will respond.
