Incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan has requested personal appearance and live streaming of Supreme Court proceedings. His petition seeks to nullify amendments to the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO) introduced by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government.
A week earlier, he appeared before the top court via video link but did not get a chance to speak.
Mr. Khan applied to Adiala jail authorities, his counsel told media persons on Wednesday.
After the GBP190 million corruption hearing, the PTI founding chairman said: “I have a match on May 30 in the Supreme Court.”
He stated he was convicted three times before the Feb 8 elections, but people still voted for PTI. “They thought PTI would avoid the elections; however, the returning officers of Islamabad were on the run,” he claimed, asserting PTI’s significant win in Islamabad.
The former premier argued that election tribunals should have delivered their verdicts by now, as the general election had been over three months ago.
He criticized the Punjab government’s defamation law, calling it an attempt to silence the media and restrict press freedom.

He alleged that PTI is being intimidated and prevented from holding public gatherings. In contrast, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has not falsely implicated anyone in legal cases.
Also, he knew who was responsible for the attack on Raoof Hassan, revealing control through force and intimidation. He urged his party to prepare for street protests in response to the attack on the PTI leader.
Mr. Khan explained that PTI is exercising restraint due to the fragile economy, which cannot withstand large-scale protests. However, he hinted at a reaction during the upcoming budget session.
Moreover, he criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for seeking national sacrifices, asserting that leaders should make personal sacrifices first. He also accused the Sharif family and Asif Zardari of stashing their wealth abroad and demanded they bring their money back to Pakistan.
In addition, he commended the judges for upholding the rule of law and noted the judiciary’s growing independence and commitment to justice.
It was mentioned that the funds from selling Toshakhana gifts were used to construct the Banigala road.
He welcomed the release of PTI Central President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and praised his resilience. However, he noted that Mr. Elahi’s release would have been sooner if he had severed ties with PTI.
