After the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) medical team visited Adiala Jail, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan updated on Imran Khan’s condition, stating, “Khan Saab is in good health and exercised for an hour today.”

This update came after PTI postponed its protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk due to the SCO summit’s start, following a promise from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi that doctors would check on Imran Khan in jail.

Gohar confirmed the visit of an ENT specialist and a medical specialist to Khan at 4 pm. He later shared on the social media platform ‘X’, “Alhamdulillah, Khan Saab is in good health. We expect to receive the medical reports soon, and I will share them, InshaAllah.”

He thanked PTI workers and supporters for their concern about Khan’s health. In another post, Gohar shared a medical report which described Khan as “active and afebrile with normal blood pressure and a Spo2 of 96% at room air.”

The report added that Khan was managing dyspepsia with PPIs and had been treating tinnitus for several months with no new ear complaints.

Today at about 4pm two doctors – an ENT specialist and a medical specialist visited Khan sab at Adiyala jail. We were informed a while ago that Alhamdullillah, Khan Saab is in good health and had exercised for an hour today. We shall get medical reports from them soon and I will…

Previously, Gohar announced the postponement of PTI’s October 15 protest due to the SCO summit. The PTI had also sought permission for Khan to meet his sisters and doctors, which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s administration denied.

However, Khan’s physician, Dr. Asim Yusuf, was not permitted to enter despite waiting more than an hour and presenting his credentials. Dr. Asim reported that only Pims’ doctors could perform the medical examination, leading to his departure without meeting Khan.

On our request to the Federal Minister for Interior , we were assured the well being of IK as well as a visit by a competent Doctor of PIMS today, therefore Protest on 15/10/24 was called off after unanimous decision by the political committee.
