Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claims Imran Khan received an offer to serve his remaining jail time at Bani Gala, his Islamabad residence, according to his lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, who spoke to reporters outside Adiala Jail on Thursday.
“Khan has proposed a move to Bani Gala but has refused, insisting he will not relocate until those detained without trial are freed,” Chaudhry stated.
Last month, the government proposed house arrest for the PTI founder because he ceased challenging the current political framework and halted his confrontational politics.
These reports of a “deal” coincide with ongoing discussions between the federal government and PTI concerning releasing all “political prisoners” and establishing a commission to investigate the events of May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024.
This week, PTI founder’s sister Aleema Khan asserted that the former PM had declined any deals, questioning the logic of agreeing to one after serving one-and-a-half years in prison.
PTI Senator Shibli Faraz also refuted the “false perception” that Khan seeks personal relief in talks with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) coalition government.
Chaudhry also referred to a £190 million case against Khan, predicting that its outcome would mirror the previous four verdicts in his favour.
