Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has reportedly played “one final card,”
Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, speaking to journalists outside Adiala Jail, mentioned that Imran had hinted at a strategic move yet to be revealed.
Aleema refuted the rumours about the former prime minister’s health as unfounded. He noted that Imran found them amusing and confirmed his well-being, maintaining his fitness with regular exercise.
Aleema praised Bushra Bibi’s leadership during the November 24 protests, indicating that other leaders should have joined her on the front lines.
She also highlighted Imran Khan’s challenging conditions in custody, detailing his isolation for 40-50 hours without access to newspapers or state television, which kept him out of touch with external events.
On the same day, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja clarified that Imran Khan had not been moved from Adiala Jail. Addressing potential changes, another PTI leader suggested that Imran might be transferred to another cell soon.
He described a curfew-like situation in Punjab during the PTI’s protest on November 24, noting that while some managed to reach Islamabad, thousands could not. He defended the commitment of PTI’s Punjab leaders, dismissing any notion of their detachment from the party.
Additionally, Raja retracted his earlier resignation as Secretary General, planning to discuss his decision later. His resignation had followed criticism of the party’s leadership after their retreat from D-Chowk in Islamabad.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed he had received Raja’s resignation, reflecting the intense scrutiny the party leaders face following recent political events.
