The latest Imran Khan eye examination report indicates a marked improvement in his vision, with specialists noting reduced swelling and better clinical indicators in his right eye.
The examination took place on February 15 and was conducted by a medical board that included Professor Dr Nadeem Qureshi of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Professor Dr Muhammad Arif Khan of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad.
According to the report, Imran Khan’s vision in the right eye without glasses was recorded at 6/24 partial, while the left eye measured 6/9. With corrective glasses, the right eye improved to 6/9 partial and the left eye to 6/6.

The evaluation followed earlier concerns in which the former prime minister, currently in jail since August 2023, had reported losing a significant portion of vision in his right eye. He was later diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a serious eye condition often linked to age and underlying cardiovascular risk factors.

The Imran Khan eye examination report further revealed that swelling in the right eye had decreased. Thickness reduced from 550 to 350, which doctors described as a positive sign of recovery.
The medical board recommended continued use of prescribed eye drops for both eyes. They also advised further diagnostic tests, including OCT angiography and FFA, to monitor the condition closely.

The report stated that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas visited PIMS on the same day and were briefed by the medical board. Imran Khan’s personal physicians, including Dr Asim Yousaf and Dr Khurram Mirza, were also briefed by phone.
According to the report, opposition leaders and personal physicians expressed satisfaction and confidence in the treatment provided so far.

However, Shaukat Khanum Chief Medical Officer Dr Aasim Yusuf later stated that he could neither confirm nor deny the accuracy of the briefing.
