Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan wants a powerful committee under Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial to investigate the Wazirabad assassination attempt.
Khan said in a press conference, “I only hope for justice from the SC because powerful people won’t allow an investigation.”
Khan was shot in the leg while waving to crowds from a truck-mounted container during a protest march to Islamabad, which was cut short in Rawalpindi.
Khan said that while the Pakistan Army is a top institution that serves its country, every institution has a “black sheep.”
“Now, I want my assassin to help the JIT. These people obstruct justice “ex-PM:
The PTI chief previously blamed Shehbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah, and a senior military officer for his assassination attempt.
Khan said Naveed’s confessional video was released almost immediately after his arrest, “even before I reached the hospital after being shot at.”
Naveed claimed to be working alone, according to PTI’s chief. “This was pre-programmed.”
The ex-prime minister said the suspect was asked to say he was working alone so he couldn’t be called a “religious fanatic.”
Khan said police quickly recorded the suspect’s video statement and distributed it to “anti-PTI journalists and TV channels.”
PTI chief said Naveed was a trained shooter, not a religious fanatic. “Because I’ve practiced shooting.
He said the officers at the police station where the suspect was held did not cooperate with authorities.
Khan said he had told two public gatherings that “two to three people” were plotting to kill him.
“Who obstructed the probe? Who didn’t take notes? “Questioned ex-PM.
Khan said if he took a suspect’s name, it was his right to file a first information report (FIR), but his government’s police denied him that right.
The FIR was registered a week after Khan attacked Supreme Court orders, but the PTI rejected it because it didn’t include the person’s name.
Khan said there were three shooters, not one, contradicting PTI VP Fawad Chaudhry. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said the shooter was a “religious fanatic.”
