The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered authorities to present Pakistan Tehreel-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in person by 3 PM.
The directive stems from a petition by Mashal Yousafzai challenging the denial of access to Khan, who is jailed at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
The court initially allowed a video link option by 2 PM. When that deadline passed, it mandated Khan’s physical presence. During the hearing, the judge instructed the Adiala Jail superintendent to verify if Yousafzai was Khan’s legal counsel, amid claims she isn’t his representative.

The IHC expressed frustration over non-compliance with a prior order allowing Yousafzai’s visit. “This is contempt,” the judge stated, noting jail officials turned the matter “into a mockery.” A submitted list of Khan’s contacts faced scrutiny, with the court ready to confirm it directly with him if needed.
Advocate Shoaib Shaheen highlighted a five-month meeting ban for PTI leaders. Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum claimed Khan refused a meeting last Friday, but Justice Khan questioned why Yousafzai waited in an office instead of meeting him, as previously ordered.
This Imran Khan court appearance underscores tensions between judicial authority and jail management. As the PTI founder’s legal battles continue, the ruling signals a push for transparency and accountability in his detention.
