Khalid Shamim  on of the key suspect of Imran Farooq murder cases revealed during the interrogation that the directives regarding the assassination of the MQM leader were received directly from London.

According to sources and local news channels,  Khalid was interrogated by the intelligence agencies during which he disclosed that “Following the murder, we split up and Muazzam Ali’s BlackBerry phone was destroyed as per directions. Later on, I met Mohsin and Kashif at Hammad Siddiqui’s bidding and Mohsin and Kashif moved to Sri Lanka. After some time, i went to Sri Lanka to meet Mohsin and Kashif.

Khalid also divulged that  both of them were in persistent liaison with him through daily phone calls and emails.

Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel arrested Khalid Shamim and Mohsin Ali Syed at Chaman border on June 18 while they were sneaking into Balochistan from Afghanistan.

The preliminary investigations laid bare the fact that the two arrested suspects are involved in the killing of MQM leader Imran Farooq. On this, the two were shifted to Islamabad.

It is pertinent to note here that former MQM convener Dr. Imran Farooq was killed outside his house in London on September 16, 2010.
