Imran Khan has made a significant assertion regarding the current political developments in Pakistan. He alleges that these events are part of the ‘London Plan’, insinuating that this scheme extends to the Supreme Court.
Khan suggests that the court is operating under this covert agreement. In a discussion at Adiala Jail, he urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, to ponder over a specific verse from the Holy Quran, which he believes underscores the importance of justice even towards enemies.
PTI’s Legal Struggles and Khan’s Criticism of the Political Landscape
Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn the Peshawar High Court’s order, which had previously favoured PTI by allowing them to retain their iconic cricket bat symbol for the upcoming general elections on February 8. He argued that a five-member bench should have heard the party’s case regarding their electoral symbol.
During the interaction, Khan continued to assert that the unfolding events are components of the ‘London Plan’, linking his incarceration, the dismantling of PTI, and the resolution of Nawaz Sharif’s case to this alleged scheme. He accused specific individuals, including Donald Lu and General Bajwa, of being behind his imprisonment and firmly rejected any potential electoral alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), especially with its Chairman Bilawal.
Khan also criticized Nawaz Sharif for unfair play in politics, likening it to a cricket match with biased umpires. He pointed out ongoing financial irregularity cases against Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, especially concerning acquiring luxury cars from Toshakhana. Khan expressed frustration over the closure of cases against PML-N members, contrasting it with the continuous emergence of new cases against PTI.
In his concluding remarks, Khan predicted significant public discontent on the election day, February 8. He warned of a backlash against opposing parties and highlighted the challenges faced by PTI candidates in campaigning.
Despite these hurdles, Khan remains confident in the resilience of PTI, attributing it to popular support. He concluded by lamenting external influences preventing his participation in the party’s ticket allocation process and the restrictions placed upon him in jail.
