Former Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari’s daughter, Iman Mazari, along with her husband, were detained in Islamabad.
Police sources confirm that a formal complaint was lodged against the couple at the Aabpara police station in Islamabad. The charges include obstruction of governmental operations and other related offences.
Iman Mazari’s arrest follows a recent attempt by Iman Mazari, a professional lawyer, and her husband to disrupt a designated route for the England cricket team.
Further reports from police sources indicate that during the altercation, Iman Mazari’s husband resisted law enforcement efforts, assaulted police officers, and used derogatory language.
The couple reportedly issued grave threats to the officers involved. Iman Mazari’s husband was quoted as defiantly stating, “You cannot stop me.”
