The leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z), Ijazul Haq, and associates have formally joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Haq, the son of the late general and former military dictator Ziaul Haq, announced a meeting with PTI leader Imran Khan at Khan’s Lahore home in Zaman Park.
According to sources, Haq would run for office in the 2023 elections on the PTI ticket.
Haq revealed to the media that they have collaborated with Imran Khan for some time. While I am with Imran Khan, our Shaheed Ziaul Haq-inspired party will continue to exist, and we will fight the elections together.
Haq received over 72,000 votes in the 2018 general elections, defeating Noorul Hassan Tanvir of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who received over 91,000 votes in NA-169 Bahawalnagar.
