On Tuesday, the 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2024) commenced at the Karachi Expo Centre. Defence and Defence Production Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif inaugurated the event, which runs until November 22.
This biennial exhibition, organized by Pakistan’s Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO), has attracted over 350 delegations from 55 countries. Since 2000, IDEAS has become a key venue for defence manufacturers, entrepreneurs, R&D specialists, financial experts, and policymakers. They collaborate, share knowledge, and initiate ventures in defence.
IDEAS 2024 is a hub for the global defence industry, fostering synergistic business opportunities and partnerships. Minister Asif highlighted Pakistan’s potential for profitable investments and joint ventures in defence and other sectors during his opening remarks.
He pointed out that IDEAS allows international manufacturers and suppliers to explore new defence cooperation opportunities through joint ventures, outsourcing, and collaboration.
