The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed its Men’s Test, One-Day International (ODI), and T20I Teams of the Year for 2023. Notably, no Pakistani player was included in these teams.
Men’s Test and ODI Teams Dominated by Australia and India
Australia’s Pat Cummins is captain of the Test Team of the Year. He led Australia to World Test Championship glory and took 42 wickets. The Test team features five Australian players, the most of any nation. In contrast, the ODI Team of the Year is dominated by Indian players. India’s Rohit Sharma, with 1255 runs, captains the team. Other notable Indian players in the ODI team include Virat Kohli and Mohammad Siraj.
The ICC Men’s Test Team includes Usman Khawaja, Dimuth Karunaratne, Kane Williamson, and others, with Pat Cummins as the captain. The ODI Team features Rohit Sharma as captain, alongside players like Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami.
ICC also announced the Men’s T20I Team of the Year, led by Suryakumar Yadav, and the Women’s ODI and T20I Teams of the Year. Chamari Athapaththu and feature stars like Ellyse Perry and Nat Sciver-Brunt captain the women’s teams.
