The death toll from an explosion at a liquid petroleum gas cylinder filling shop in Hyderabad’s Preetabad area escalated to six on Friday.
The incident occurred in the shop on the ground floor near Zacha Bacha Hospital along Mir Nabi Bux Town Road in UC-8 of Neerunkot town.
The victims, including children who succumbed to their injuries, were identified by 1122 officials as 15-year-old Bilal, 5-year-old Raheem, Hasnain, and Ayan.
Following the blast, at least 60 individuals, predominantly children, sustained severe burn injuries. They received initial emergency treatment at the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) before being transferred to a major hospital in Karachi for specialized care.
Among those critically injured, 18-22 individuals suffered 80% to 90% burns. The LUH records indicate that the transferred victims included

In response to the tragedy, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, accompanied by other ministers, visited the Burns Ward to inquire about the condition of the injured. He directed doctors to ensure the provision of the best possible treatment.
The Chief Minister revealed that 19 of the injured, including nine children and a woman, were being treated at the Civil Hospital Karachi. He reassured the public that all efforts were being made to provide top-notch medical care to the victims.
