The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Team arrested human rights activist Sarim Burney in Karachi on Wednesday.
Burney was allegedly involved in serious offences, including human trafficking, according to sources. The FIA had been surveilling Burney’s activities before his arrest.
Burney was taken into custody upon his arrival from the United States at Karachi Airport.
A legal team has arrived at the FIA office to meet with Burney.
