Police in Karachi discovered new evidence during a search of the late actress Humaira Asghar’s apartment in the DHA area. Investigators found a mysterious white powder in three to four clay vessels, raising questions about its potential role in her death. Samples have been sent to a laboratory for chemical analysis to determine the nature and composition of the substance.
Authorities reported no clear explanation for the presence of the powder. They suggested it could account for the unusual odour emanating from her body. “A thorough chemical examination will be necessary to identify the precise nature and composition of the white powder found at the scene,” stated the police.
Humaira’s decomposed body was found on July 8, 2025, in her locked fourth-floor apartment located in the Ittehad Commercial Area. This discovery followed a court-ordered eviction due to unpaid rent dating back to April 2024. Neighbours had reported a foul odour, but the vacancy of an adjacent unit delayed the detection of the situation. The locked doors suggested that she had died alone.
