The first day of Sunsilk HUM Bridal Couture Week opened in Lahore with colour, music, and cultural pride. Most notably, renowned couturier Fahad Hussayn transformed the runway into a lively Basant celebration.
From the start, the show set a festive mood. Traditional dancers, vibrant costumes, and mock horseback performers filled the stage. At the same time, live performances by Zain Zohaib and dancer Wahab Shah added depth and energy to the presentation.
However, the true focus remained on the bridal wear. Hussayn showcased finely crafted shararas with detailed embroidery and rich textures. Each look reflected strong craftsmanship and his signature style. As a result, the collection balanced tradition with modern bridal elegance. Actor Sabeena Farooq appeared as the showstopper, closing the segment with confidence.
In recent years, bridal shows had begun to feel predictable. This season, however, marked a clear change. Under the guidance of veteran show director Rizwan Beyg, the runway felt sharper and more controlled. Consequently, the collections appeared cleaner, better paced, and visually stronger.
Meanwhile, several designers delivered standout presentations on Day One. Almirah presented modern menswear with actor Ahmed Ali Akbar as the showstopper. Similarly, Sameer Sain featured his designs with Muneeb Butt, while Fais Couture showcased a collection alongside singer Wali Hamid Ali Khan.
In addition, veteran designers Asifa & Nabeel returned with a refined bridal line, led by superstar Resham. Actors Ali Raza and Kinza Hashmi walked for Nizka by Nida Rehan, while Abeer presented designs for Hira Hania.
As always, celebrity presence remained a key strength of the event. Moreover, the lineup featured top designers such as HSY, Ali Xeeshan, and Adnan Pardesy, ensuring strong fashion direction throughout the evening.
Finally, the night closed with a grand finale by HSY. His collection, Haveli, drew inspiration from Mughal-era style and royal homes. Models wore richly detailed outfits paired with gold headpieces and elegant accessories. To conclude the show, TikTok star Jannat Mirza walked alongside the designer, bringing the opening night to a regal end.
