Over the past few years, increasingly, designers are venturing into ready-to-wear, the winds of change steadily steering them from the exclusive, limited reaches of couture to mass-oriented prêt. HSY too has joined the bandwagon.
In a three-tiered store on Lahore’s busy M.M. Alam road, HSY’s ‘Sher’ has just come to life. ‘Sher’, of course, is couturier extraordinaire Hasan Shehryar Yasin’s latest line-up, showcased at the recent PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week (PSFW), announcing the designer’s foray into the viable, retail-friendly waters of prêt. Only a few weeks later, the collection is now promptly being stocked at the brand new HSY store — the smatterings of sequins on the clothes shining amidst gleaming chandeliers, crystalline ornaments and luxurious marble flooring.
