Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has reaffirmed his determination to improve his game after missing out on selection for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
The Pakistan Cricket Board recently announced its 15-member squad for the global event. While former captain Babar Azam was included, Rauf and Mohammad Rizwan did not make the final cut.
Speaking during a special interview in Australia, the 31-year-old fast bowler said his omission does not mark the end of his international career. “There is disappointment, of course,” Rauf said. “But my career will not end because of this. I will keep working hard and focus even more on my bowling.”
The Rawalpindi-born pacer acknowledged that missing a major tournament naturally brings regret. However, he stressed that his focus remains on improvement and consistency. Rauf said he has continued to work on his skills and believes his performances have improved since the Asia Cup. He also expressed strong support for the national side ahead of the World Cup.

“I wish the team all the best,” he said. “I hope Pakistan performs strongly in the tournament.”
Addressing criticism from fans and analysts, Rauf said players can distinguish between constructive feedback and personal attacks.
“When Pakistan lose, players feel the pain deeply,” he said. “Criticism is acceptable, but disrespect is not.” Rauf added that he has always given his best whenever he has represented Pakistan.
The fast bowler also spoke about the demands of modern cricket, particularly the challenge of bowling in the death overs. “It is one of the toughest roles in today’s game,” he said. “It requires skill, control, and mental strength.”
Rauf also praised the Pakistan Super League, which will enter its 11th season this March. He said the league continues to grow in quality and global appeal. “The PSL has become a major league,” he noted. “It will attract even more overseas players in the future.”
