Fast bowler Haris Rauf led the Pakistan attack, capturing five wickets as they bowled Australia out for 163 in just 35 overs during the second ODI at Adelaide Oval.
Rauf, originally from Rawalpindi, continued his excellent form following a three-wicket haul in the first match. His aggressive bowling dismantled the Australian middle order after Pakistan’s captain, Mohammad Rizwan, chose to field first.
Shaheen Shah Afridi supported Rauf’s efforts by dismissing Australian openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short early in the game. Afridi claimed three wickets, while fellow bowlers Mohammad Hasnain and Shah each took one.
Steven Smith was the top scorer for Australia with 35 runs. The opening match of the series had ended narrowly in Australia’s favor, leaving Pakistan trailing 0-1.
Pakistan is seeking its first ODI win in Australia since January 2017, when then-captain Mohammad Hafeez led the team to a memorable victory.
