Karachi’s Happy Palace School’s Asfahani Campus has introduced an AI-powered teacher robot named Miss Aini, formally inducted on November 1.
Capable of answering questions in over 20 languages, Miss Aini marks a first for the region. Engineer Hassan Siddiqui developed Miss Aini over seven months, using materials such as wiring, fibreglass, and synthetic hair from local Karachi markets.

Students have expressed enthusiasm for their robotic classes, noting the uniqueness and educational value of interacting with Miss Aini. They enjoy challenging her language skills with questions in Urdu, English, Sindhi, French, and more.
Muhammad Asif Khan, the school’s head, stated that while robotic technology is common globally, Miss Aini was introduced to give students advanced technological skills. He revealed that future upgrades would enhance her functionality.
Principal Mrs. Siddiqui highlighted that Miss Aini, the first AI teacher in Pakistan, teaches seven subjects and doesn’t take leaves. She operates entirely on Wi-Fi and earns a monthly salary of PKR 100,000.
Vice Principal Sadaf Bhatti emphasized that Miss Aini, while not replacing human teachers, is a valuable classroom assistant. She mentioned planned upgrades, including motion detectors and sensors, to improve Miss Aini’s interaction with students.
The AI teacher project, costing over PKR 300,000, began in March, was completed in August, and classes started in November.
In a recent development, Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu and Sindh Assembly Speaker Awais Qadir Shah discussed using AI to enhance legislative processes and support e-parliament initiatives at their meeting. They also covered strengthening trade, investment, and inter-parliamentary cooperation between Turkey and Pakistan. Speaker Shah plans to train young parliamentarians to enhance their legislative skills. The meeting concluded with cultural exchanges and traditional gifts presented to the Turkish delegation.
