Halle Berry, the first Black woman to win an Academy Award for Best Actress, now focuses on women’s health. On September 23, 2025, she shared her journey as a menopause advocate. Berry, 58, launched Respin in 2020 as a wellness site. She transformed it into a menopause-focused platform that helps women embrace ageing.
In May 2024, Berry spoke out on Capitol Hill alongside women senators. “I’m in menopause!” she declared, aiming to destigmatise the subject. She told Forbes, “It’s sexy to age. We don’t have to stay eternally 30.” After doctors misdiagnosed her perimenopause symptoms as herpes, Berry launched her mission to raise awareness.
Respin’s Dual Approach
Respin relaunched in February 2025 and offers:
- Community Membership ($149/year): Private chats, doctor Q&As, and early access to wellness gadgets.
- Products: Intimacy gel ($21–$45) and a vaginal wand ($495) from Joylux to relieve menopause symptoms.
- Health Services: Telehealth visits ($55 for 30 minutes), lifestyle plans ($20), group coaching ($45/month), and one-on-one sessions ($100).
"Fighting for women's health, that to me seems like a legacy worth leaving."

The menopause market reached $17 billion in 2024, according to Grand View Research, and is projected to grow to $24 billion by 2030. Every year, 1.3 million women in the US enter menopause, yet only about 2,500 doctors specialise in this field. Frédérique Dame of Grand View highlights a high demand for care.
Respin aims to serve as a “one-stop shop” for menopause support. Berry recognises that every woman experiences menopause differently. With $5 million in funding from investors like Khosla Ventures, Respin delivers telehealth services and community support. The platform is still new but growing rapidly.
Berry’s advocacy challenges taboos. Her Oscar-winning fame and Respin’s focus inspire trust. Forbes included her on their 2025 50 Over 50 list alongside Mika Brzezinski. Berry’s work empowers women to embrace ageing proudly.
