The government of Pakistan has extended the application window for Hajj 2026 to include unregistered pilgrims, responding to concerns about low participation. Registered applicants can submit their applications from August 4 to August 9, 2025, while unregistered pilgrims can apply from August 11 to August 16. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those who are already registered, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The federal cabinet approved the Hajj Policy 2026 on July 31, 2025, alongside the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy 2025, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The policy increases the government scheme quota to 70%, allocating 30% to private operators, aiming for better management and services.
