A fire broke out at Hafeez Centre in Lahore’s commercial hub of Gulberg on Thursday, but emergency responders quickly contained the blaze. Rescue 1122 teams acted swiftly, preventing the fire from spreading further in the busy electronics market. Cooling operations remain ongoing at the site to ensure the area is fully secure.

DIG Operations Lahore personally supervised the response, deploying substantial police resources to manage the situation. Authorities implemented strict security measures around the affected area, instructing Gulberg’s Station House Officer to maintain crowd control and restrict unauthorised access to the fire site.

Rescue officials confirmed that they have extinguished the active flames, but teams continue thorough cooling operations to prevent any potential reignition. Multiple fire tenders and emergency personnel are systematically securing the building, while police have cordoned off surrounding areas to facilitate rescue efforts and ensure public safety.

Initial reports show no casualties, though authorities continue to monitor and assess the situation. Relevant departments have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, with market representatives and building management cooperating fully.

Local businesses experienced temporary disruptions as emergency services established a perimeter, and traffic police redirected vehicles from adjacent roads to provide clear access for emergency vehicles. The DIG Operations emphasised that all necessary resources are supporting rescue teams, with senior officials maintaining constant oversight.

Hafeez Centre, one of Lahore’s leading electronics and IT markets, attracts significant daily foot traffic. The prompt containment of the fire prevented a potentially more severe incident, given the building’s dense commercial occupancy. Market associations have praised the coordinated response from emergency services.

Authorities advise the public to avoid unnecessary travel to the area as cooling operations continue. Officials will provide further updates as the situation develops and investigators complete their assessment of the scene.
