Supergiant Games has announced that Hades 2 will launch as a timed console exclusive on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch, alongside its release on PC.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, after the game was featured in the Nintendo Direct livestream on April 2. While versions for PlayStation and Xbox are anticipated later, Nintendo platforms will be the first to receive the console run.

“Hades II v1.0 will launch simultaneously on Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch 2, and the original Switch,” Supergiant posted on X. The studio’s Creator’s Voice video with Nintendo added that more details, including a release date, will drop later this year. The Switch 2, fully unveiled at the Direct, hits shelves June 5, 2025, with Hades 2 among its third-party lineup.
Since its early access debut on PC on May 6, 2024, Hades 2 has received a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, based on over 55,000 reviews. Following the success of the original Hades, which launched on Switch and PC in 2020 before expanding to PlayStation and Xbox in 2021, Supergiant appears set to replicate this rollout. The sequel features Melinoe, the Princess of the Underworld, as she battles Chronos, the Titan of Time.
