The Federal Government of Pakistan, led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has announced its intention to file a legal case seeking the ban of the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Ata Tarar, the Minister of Information for PML-N, made this statement during a recent press conference.
Minister Tarar articulated that the coexistence of PTI and the state of Pakistan was untenable, prompting the government’s decision to pursue a ban. He also mentioned that the government is poised to file a review petition concerning the Supreme Court’s decision on reserved seats, which he claimed provided undue relief to PTI.
He further explained that this decision was reached following thorough consultations with the coalition partners supporting the government. The move to ban PTI reflects a consolidated stance among the allied parties, underscoring a strategic alignment within the federal administration.
Minister Tarar emphasized the government’s firm position that PTI should be banned, highlighting the legal steps that will be taken to initiate this process.
