The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication introduced a no-interest payment plan for cell phones.
According to information, the smartphone-for-all program was created for low-income individuals who cannot pay a large amount of money all at once.
Syed Amin Ul Haq, minister of the IT ministry, inaugurated the project by cooperating with Pakistani start-ups QisstPay and GSMA.
In the first phase, cell phones ranging in price from 10,000 to 100,000 rupees would be given away in installments over 3 to 12 months.
Federal Minister Amin Ul Haq remarked that under the program, anyone might quickly receive a smartphone through CNIC without the trouble of extensive papers.
Earlier, Syed Aminul Haque, the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication requested Meta, Facebook’s parent company, to open an office in Pakistan.
The Ministry of IT & Telecom announced via tweets that the minister had met a senior Meta delegation. The Ministerial Conference of the International Telecommunication Union has drawn about 186 ministerial delegations to Bucharest, Romania.
