Google is rolling out Google Play Store review search, a new feature that makes it easier to find specific information in app reviews. For Android users comparing apps, this update could save time by helping them find answers without scrolling through thousands of comments.
App reviews often help people decide whether an app is worth downloading. However, finding details about bugs, performance, or common complaints can take time. Now, Google is making that process simpler with a built-in search bar inside the reviews section.
To use the feature, tap the ratings section at the top of any app listing, then tap See all reviews. You can also scroll to the Reviews and ratings area, where a magnifying glass icon appears below the AI-generated review summary.
Once you tap the icon, the review section moves to the top of the screen and shows a search bar. After that, enter a few words and tap the search button on your keyboard. The Play Store will then display reviews that contain those terms.
Right now, the tool has a few limits. First, review results do not appear as you type. Instead, finish your query and run the search manually. Second, the feature appears to work only with exact matches. That means it may not return broader or related results unless the same words appear in a review.
There is also another restriction: single-word searches do not seem to return results. Users currently need to type at least two words to see matching reviews. Still, Google includes suggested queries under the search bar for common issues, which may help users find useful feedback faster.

The Google Play Store review search is arriving with version 50.7.24-31. If the feature is not visible yet, users can try updating the app from the Play Store settings menu.
To do that, tap your profile picture on the homepage, scroll down to Settings, then go to About, and select Update Play Store.
This update may seem small, but it solves a common problem. Many users rely on reviews before downloading an app, especially when they want to check for specific issues. By adding a review search bar, Google is making app research quicker and more practical.
