Gold prices surged over the past two days, with sharp gains in both domestic and international markets.
In the domestic market, gold prices jumped by 24,000 rupees per tola on the previous day. This took the total two-day increase to 38,800 rupees per tola.
On Wednesday, prices rose by another 14,800 rupees per tola. The new domestic gold rate now stands at 529,162 rupees per tola.
Prices for 10 grams of gold also climbed sharply. The rate increased by 12,689 rupees, bringing the new price to 453,671 rupees per 10 grams.
Internationally, gold prices posted strong gains over the same period. Prices rose by 388 dollars per ounce in two days, pushing gold back above the 5,000-dollar level.
On Wednesday alone, international gold prices increased by 148 dollars per ounce. This lifted the global rate to 5,064 dollars per ounce.
