Gilgit: two fugitives managed to break a siege of security forces on Friday capture in suburban Gilgit on Saturday.
Earlier, two militants, Habibur Rehman and Liaquat alias Akhtar escaped from the prison on Friday left one militant, Bilal, dead and another, Dilbar, injured.

Habibur Rehman in 2013 clad in paramilitary uniforms stormed the Nanga Parbat base camp and shot dead nine mountaineers, five Ukrainians, three Chinese and a Russian along with Pakistani guides. Janud-e-Hafsa faction of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan had claimed responsibility for the attack.

After a intensive searching, Law enforcement agencies (LAEs) captured the escaped militants in a compound in the Minawar area, some 15 kilometres away from Gilgit, in the early hours of Saturday.
According to LAEs sources, the siege was laid by the police, assisted by Gilgit Scouts and army troops, the siege continued all the night but militants somehow managed to escape.
Later on the security forces conducted a door-to-door search in the area, but in vain.
The official further added that, the search operation has been expanded to the Pari area, about 30km from Gilgit.
