During his Eid ul Adha address at the Line of Control in the Haji Pir sector, General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs for national defense.
He emphasized the pride soldiers feel in securing the nation during such significant occasions away from their families. Inter-Services Public Relations stated that the army chief shared these sentiments with troops.
General Munir led Eid prayers with the officers and soldiers, praying for peace and prosperity in Pakistan. He praised the troops for their high morale and dedication to the country.
Addressing the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he restated Pakistan’s commitment to UN resolutions and criticized India’s treatment of Kashmiris. He accused India of using elections to obscure its aggressive tactics and provoke Pakistan.
The COAS warned against any threats to Pakistan’s sovereignty, promising a strong response with national support.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari also spoke on Eid, extending greetings and emphasizing solidarity with the Kashmiris and Palestinians, advocating for brotherhood, sacrifice, and selflessness.
