A chilling new video, uncovered on a slain medic’s phone, reveals the final moments of 15 Palestinian medics killed by Israeli forces in Gaza on March 23.
Released Saturday by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), the footage filmed by victim Rifat Radwan shows medics in reflective gear inside a marked ambulance in Rafah’s Tal as-Sultan area, ambushed by heavy gunfire. It directly challenges the Israeli military’s claim of targeting “suspicious vehicles” lacking emergency signals.
The PRCS says the convoy responded to civilian pleas post-bombardment. In the clip, a fire truck and ambulances halt on the roadside; two medics step out, and then gunfire erupts. Radwan recites the Shahada as the screen cuts black. Israel insists it hit “terrorists,” but PRCS and witnesses point to bound, executed bodies eight PRCS medics, six Civil Defence members, and a UNRWA worker—found in a mass grave near Rafah, per the UN’s OCHA. “This was deliberate,” PRCS asserts, backed by evidence of headshots and dismemberment.
Global Outcry and Calls for Justice
Hamas has described the situation as “premeditated murder” and is calling for a global investigation. The government of Gaza referred to it as “brutal” and is urging for accountability. Volker Turk from the UN has highlighted possible war crimes and is advocating for a “thorough investigation.” According to UNRWA, 408 aid workers have died since October 2023, and there have been over 50,000 Palestinian casualties. Israel’s investigation is under intense scrutiny, with many people calling for an independent review of this humanitarian tragedy.
