Gaza’s civil defence agency reported on April 28, 2025, that Israeli airstrikes killed at least 16 people across the Palestinian territory, which has been under an Israeli air blockade for over 50 days.
The strikes, part of Israel’s resumed military campaign since March 18, followed the collapse of a two-month ceasefire with Hamas due to unresolved disputes. The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza stated that 2,222 people have died since the campaign restarted, bringing the war’s total death toll to 52,314.
