Galle Test, Pakistan ended the day one on avery positive note scoring 261-4 (88 overs) as the umpires called the end of the day with 2-overs remaining due to bad light.

Misbah ul Haq won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision is a bit challenging for the top order as it’s not easy to tackle bowlers on a wet pitch.

First session of the days was quite bad for Pakistan, howver batsmen performed well in second and third session scoring 81 and 121 runs respectively at the loss of just aone wicket.

The openers Khurram Manzoor (3) and Ahmed Shahzad (4) were gone by the sixth over to Dhammika Prasad. Younis and Azhar Ali(30) fought, but the patient Rangana Herath produced a ripper to limit the partnership to 37 with the prized wicket of Azhar Ali.

Younis Khan with his century at a very crucial moment brought a complete turnaround for Pakistan.
