Recently, a video surfaced showing an incident at Manchester Airport where a police officer kicked a Pakistani Muslim man lying on the ground.
The footage caused an uproar on social media, with many decrying the treatment of the “poor, innocent Pakistani Muslim.” Initially, I suggested that these individuals must have provoked the situation, as it is unlikely for a Pakistani and a Muslim not to engage in some form of misbehaviour.
The full CCTV footage has been released, revealing the complete story. The video shows the man aggressively attacking and injuring three or four police officers within a short period. He repeatedly punched a female officer in the face, breaking her nose and causing her to fall to the ground. Despite this, the police showed considerable restraint and did not resort to using firearms. His brother was also seen assaulting the officers.
Many other Muslims at the airport, including women in burqas, were recording the incident. However, none of them shared the full video. Instead, they selectively shared clips that portrayed the men as victims. The true events have come to light only with the release of the full CCTV footage.
