In an astonishing turn of events, a French national of Pakistani origin, initially disguised as a boy, was arrested in Mirpur City, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). She is accused of trafficking local girls abroad under the guise of marriage.
Following a complaint from a victim’s family, police detained Nargis, who masqueraded as a male named Shaaban. Investigations revealed her affiliation with an international trafficking ring. Posing as a male, Nargis would marry girls in AJK, prepare their travel documents, and then sell them overseas.
Victim’s Ordeal and Family’s Intervention
One victim’s father reported that Nargis married his daughter and took her to France via Dubai. The family later discovered that their supposed son-in-law was a woman. The victim faced torture and attempts at being sold in various locations. Her family successfully located her in France and ensured her safety. They identified Nargis upon her return to AJK for potentially deceiving another girl.
A medical examination by the District Headquarters Hospital in Mirpur confirmed Nargis is female, as stated by the police.
