On Sunday, French experts evaluated Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore airports, assessing readiness for Electronic gates (E-gates) installation.
Pakistan’s Aviation Division and Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) officials provided detailed briefings on the planned setups.
The E-gates are designed to streamline boarding processes, allowing travellers to bypass traditional queues. Passengers can scan their passports and tickets at the E-gate to receive boarding cards. The E-gate technology utilizes data from the biometric chips embedded in passports.
Integrating E-gates will enhance the convenience of international travel and offer a more efficient boarding experience. This system includes biometric verification—facial, fingerprint, or iris recognition that triggers the gates to open automatically once the passenger is authenticated.
