Former U.S. President Bill Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center on Monday due to a fever, his office reported. At 78 years old, Clinton, who has faced various health challenges previously, is under medical observation and undergoing tests.
“President Clinton was admitted this afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever,” stated Angel Urena, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, on the social media platform X. Urena added that Clinton “remains in good spirits.”
Clinton’s health has been a recurring issue; he was hospitalized for five nights in October 2021 with a blood infection. Earlier, in 2004, he underwent a quadruple bypass operation to address extensive heart disease discovered by his doctors. He later had stents placed in his coronary artery in 2010.

This series of health scares prompted Clinton to overhaul his lifestyle, including adopting a vegetarian diet, a change he has often discussed publicly.
In November 2022, Clinton made headlines again when he tested positive for Covid-19. He described his symptoms as “mild” and expressed gratitude for his vaccination and booster shots.
Clinton, who served two terms as president from 1993 to 2001, is the second-youngest living U.S. president, older only than Barack Obama, who is 63. Born just months apart from former President George W. Bush and President-elect Donald Trump, Clinton has remained active in various diplomatic and humanitarian efforts since leaving office, despite the controversies that overshadowed his presidency.
