On Sunday, former president and PTI leader Dr. Arif Alvi responded to Malik Riaz’s assertion that he has faced “immense pressure” to compromise for the past year.
In a post on X, Dr. Alvi predicted that the mounting pressure would soon break. He questioned, “And who will suffer the damage?” He pointed out that it would not be those with escape routes abroad, but loyal Pakistanis like himself, committed to their homeland.
Dr. Alvi emphasized his determination to overcome adversity: “We will salvage and prosper with dignity among nations, even if we must rebuild from the ruins of ongoing corruption and illegal governance.” He attributed future success to “Allah’s grace and the visionary leadership of [Imran Khan].”
