Pakistan Army has initiated an official inquiry to investigate allegations against former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief General (Retd) Faiz Hameed alleged abuse of authority.
An inquiry has been launched against General (Retd) Faiz Hameed following a petition by the owner of a private housing society and in response to a directive from the higher judiciary to scrutinize allegations of abuse of authority by Faiz Hameed related to the housing society’s operations.
The committee, chaired by a Major General, will investigate the allegations thoroughly and compile a detailed report with appropriate recommendations should the accusations prove credible. The specific charges suggest that Faiz Hameed may have exploited his position to exert undue influence within the private housing development. This issue has previously captured the attention of the higher judiciary.

This inquiry is part of a broader initiative by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Ministry of Defence to foster transparency and accountability within the ranks of the Pakistan Army, specifically addressing the Top City scandal linked to Faiz Hameed.
A Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa advised the petitioner to direct their grievances towards the Ministry of Defence, opting not to engage under Article 184 (3) and underscoring the importance of maintaining the institution’s dignity. Consequently, the military has taken it upon itself to investigate these serious allegations thoroughly.
