Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will visit the U.S. from December 14-21.
The FM’s visit includes multilateral and bilateral meetings in New York and D.C.
Bilawal will meet with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and participate in a high-level debate at the U.N. Security Council on December 14, 2022.
On December 15 and 16, 2022, the foreign minister will host and chair the G-77 and China Ministerial Conference in New York. The conference will explore the problems developing nations confront in achieving the SDGs in light of the Covid-19 epidemic, climate-induced disasters, and geopolitical changes.
On December 19, 2022, the foreign minister will visit Washington, DC, to meet with high-level officials, legislative leaders, Pakistani-American companies, and community members. In addition, he’ll engage think tanks and the media.
During his official engagements, he will discuss bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest to advance Pakistan-US ties, especially in trade, investment, climate resilience, and economic development.
Bilawal will also discuss Pakistan’s stance on climate change and the government’s post-flood repair and rehabilitation plan.
