Five family members lost their lives in a roof collapse incident in Khyber Agency on Sunday.
According to rescue sources, the roof of the house, located at Nakki Khel area of Khyber Agency collapsed when the family members were asleep. Several persons were crushed under the rubble.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene and managed to recover five dead bodies from the debris.
Political administration has stated that several persons are still feared to be trapped under the wreckage.
It is being said that the house was in a dilapidated condition.
Poorly-built homes across the country, particularly in rural areas, are one of the primary causes for roof collapse incidents, which claim lives of several people.
However, weather also plays a factor in such events. Houses are susceptible to collapse during the annual spring rains, which are often heavy.
