FIA produces Saleem Shahzad before ATC in Karachi

Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Saleem Shahzad was presented before in a local anti-terrorism court in Karachi on Tuesday.

Saleem Shahzad was arrested from Karachi International Airport on his arrival from Dubai after 10 years.

Saleem Shahzad was wanted in a case against Dr Asim Hussain who was allegedly involved in treating and militants, Karachi warlords at Dr Ziauddin hospitals, which is owned by Dr. Asim Hussain.

An anti-terrorism court had declared him a proclaimed offender in the case in August last year.

Saleem Shahzad is also wanted in dozen cases of riots and violence but later waived under the so-called National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) issued by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in 2007.

Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed authorities to put the name of Dr. Asim Hussain on Exit Control List (ECL).
