Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday announced the launch of “Pre-Departure Facilitation Desks” by the Federal Investigation Agency to support passengers travelling abroad.
In a statement shared on X, the minister said the new desks will guide international travellers on immigration requirements and clearance procedures. He added that the initiative aims to streamline the travel process. Moreover, it seeks to reduce last-minute disruptions at airports.
Naqvi explained that passengers can access the service in person at airports and border points. Additionally, they can use dedicated helplines and email support. He said detailed information is also available on the FIA’s official website.
The move follows widespread concern over reports and rumours that passengers were offloaded from flights bound for foreign destinations due to documentation issues. In recent months, social media posts have claimed that travellers were removed from flights without clear reasons.
In November, the FIA rejected those claims and clarified that it does not offload passengers with valid, complete travel documents. The agency said it intervenes only after proper profiling is conducted when individuals attempt to travel abroad illegally.
Pleased to share that the Federal Investigation Agency has launched Pre-Departure Facilitation Desks across all zonal offices, with immediate effect.

The facilitation desks also align with the government’s broader crackdown on human smuggling and illegal migration. Authorities have stepped up checks to prevent forged or dubious travel arrangements while maintaining lawful travel channels.
Last month, Shehbaz Sharif directed relevant departments to ensure that passengers with valid documents face no inconvenience. While chairing a review meeting on human trafficking, he ordered strict action against illegal travel networks. However, he stressed that legitimate travellers must receive full support.
The prime minister also instructed the Protectorate of Emigrants to strengthen coordination with the FIA and other institutions. He said better coordination will help legal Pakistani travellers abroad and reduce unnecessary delays at departure points.
Officials believe the new facilitation desks will improve transparency and restore public confidence. They also aim to provide timely guidance to passengers before they board international flights.
